Some advice gathered from a college professor, some from when he was a former
student and some he has collected from his current students.
Beware the first semester. Here are some tips specific to the first semester:
- Don't get a TV
- Don't play any games
- Don't party too much
Professors are not teachers:
- Ask professors about their research
- Go to office hours
- Sit in the front row
Get ahead, College classes cover material much faster than high school classes:
- Fight procrastination
- Pay attention in lecture
- Watch your health
- Sleep
- Eat
- Exercise
- Register early
Take courses from the best teachers
Don't pay full price for textbooks, shop online
Don't take courses you don't have to
Stay safe
